A complete unifacial quartzite handaxe, of Lower and / or Middle Palaeolithic dating (400, 000 BC to 50, 000 BC). The quartzite handaxe has been struck from a pebble core. It has been worked unifacially (one side). Approximately 50% of the pebble has been worked. Two large flakes have been removed, to create the main shape, with a couple of smaller flakes removed from the right hand side to create a slightly serrated edge. It measures 102.1 mm in length, 58.5 mm wide and 33.1 mm thick. It weighs 314 g. The quartzite is a mid brown colour, with a couple of curved red veins.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman decorated trumpet brooch, dating to circa AD 75 to 400. The brooch is almost complete apart from the missing pin and spring mechanism. The brooch is an inverted 'L' shape in profile and the bow tapers from an oval head to a circular foot knop. At the reverse of the head are the remains of a perforated lug that would have held the spring in place. The lug has a circular piercing. A complete silver finger ring of late medieval dating (AD 1400 to AD 1600). The finger ring has a D shaped hoop, and an applied bezel. An incomplete strip of decorated gold, of probable Bronze Age dating (c. 1500 BC to c. 800 BC). The strip of gold is sub rectangular in shape and has been folded into a sub triangular shape. The strip has been decorated with a series of embossed ridges along its length. One end has a relatively straight and smooth cut edge, the other end is hidden inside the folds.
