Parts of two Roman sheet copper alloy probable nail cleaners, mid 1st - 2nd century:
- very small suspension hole (diameter 2mm) in the centre of a slightly bent rounded top below which there is a neck formed by a pair of side notches. These mark the start of a long straight-sided blade which tapers to a recent break. The bifid operative end has been lost. Both faces of the blade are engraved with a pair of lines which converge at a point above the break. The spaces between them and the edges are filled with rocker-arm engraving. The abraded condition makes this decoration very difficult to make out. Crummy 1983 Type 2a. Extant length 47.5mm. Width 4.8 - 9.3mm.
- top part missing, with the sides expanding a short distance below the old break before descending to the bifid end. On both faces both edges are followed by an engraved. Extant length 25mm. Width 8 - 2.4mm.
