MOUNT

Unique ID: LEIC-953C57

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Medieval lead alloy scallop mount, 16mm wide and 14mm high. The object is in fair condition with a grey patina. It is in the form of a scallop shell and is almost round in section, except for the hollowed out reverse. There are no obvious signs of fixings on the reverse, perhaps suggesting that the mount sat on top of something?
