A silver plated copper alloy coin dating from the Roman period: the core of a plated denarius (contemporary copy) issued for Severus Alexander (AD 222-235) and struck AD 228-229 (Reece period 11). P M TR P VII [C]OS II P P reverse type depicting Romulus walking right carrying spear and trophy. Mint of Rome. RIC Vol. 4B, No. 85.

The coin, which is abraded, has a diameter of 17.58mm, a thickness of 2.57mm, and weighs 2.44g.
