The front has a raised representation of a bearded male figure facing. The rear face has a bent attachment loop and the maker's name, Charles Jennens of London: [CHARLE]S JENN[ENS] LONDON
This button is white metal coated at the front.

The design, a Capuchin friar couped, is the crest (component of coat of arms) of the Barrington family whose seat was in Essex and were associated with Swainston Manor in the Isle of Wight.
