A complete copper-alloy light-duty thimble of Medieval date (AD 1350-1450). The object is shallow and domed. The thimble is decorated with a single concentric groove around the base, and parallel lines of punched circles transversely along the walls. As the walls angle inwards the punches are in concentric circles, apparently a spiral formation although patches of lost patination. Within the central area at the top with a single perforation at the apex. The inner surface is undecorated.

Holmes' 'Tonsure' type (Holmes 1988:3)

The metal is mid-green in colour with a slightly pitted patina. The object has been compressed along the open end distorting the shape.
