A Post Medieval silver gilt single sharp-hooked tag dating from the sixteenth century. This a Read Class D, Type 6. The hood tag is a scalloped edged trefoil shaped in plan with three domed bosses decorated with filigree rope twist wire. Each boss has a large annulet encircling a trefoil of smaller annulets. In the centre of the tag is a perforation where a central element would have attached this is now missing. There is a separate hook and the remains of the solder for an attachment bar which is missing. On the hook where it flattens out and is attached to the main body is a makers mark consisting of a letter G. Reed (2008:81 no.270) illustrates a similar example.
