Copper alloy Polden Hill type brooch that has rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings which would have held the pin axis bar which is now missing resulting in the loss of the pin and spring. At the top of the head is a rearwards projecting hook that would have held the external cord of the spring. The front of the bow is undecorated, but unfortunately the lower half is truncated.
