An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester derivative double lug type, dating to AD 43-100. It has a C-shaped cross-sectioned head with a double lug at the centre of its back; one of the wing is damaged. The head house half of the spring, the coils of which are still wrapped around the incomplete axis-bar. The axis-bar goes through the lower perforated lug and breaks. The upper lug houses the broken chord. The bow is semi-oval in cross-section and slightly tapers towards the break ( at 14.11 mm from the head). The front face of the bow has a longitudinal central groove, which tapers towards the head. The surfaces are moderately worn.
