An incomplete copper-alloy "ball-ended" strap end of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 1000 – 1100.
The object comprises a partial sub-rectangular openwork plate with three conjoined ball terminals. The opposite end of the plate terminates in worn breaks.
The metal has a dark red/brown patina and is worn. The object is 23mm long, 23.7mm wide, 7.9mm thick and weighs 9.9g.
Similar objects have been recorded as HAMP-E6C8F5, YORYM-0B12E3, BH-6BAE65, SWYOR-4FFF97, SWYOR-7DBCD4 and BH-587E21, the latter of which references Biddle (1990) page 499: classifying the decoration as Winchester style.
