Heavily corroded copper alloy long flanged axe (developed flat axe) dating from the final phase of the Early to the earliest Middle Bronze Age (c. 2000 - 1700 BC). The axe is of the type Arreton (Schmidt and Burgess 1981, no. 413) which is dated Early Bronze Age III, of metalworking stage V, which corresponds to Needham's (1996) Period 3 c2000 - 1700 CAL BC.
The axe has straight sides and a flared cutting edge, which is damaged, measures 71.96mm in width. The axe has a stop ridge and low raised flanges. The septum between the flanges measures 14.85mm.

Notes:
The axe is very heavily corroded with some traces of active bronze disease.
