Silver coin. Halfgroat of Henry VI, first reign (1422-1461), annulet issue of 1422-1427, Calais mint.

Obverse description: Facing bare-shouldered bust with tall bifoliate crown whose ornaments touch, narrow neck with hollow at throat, within a nine-arched tressure with lis on its cusps, an annulet to either side of neck. Initial cross with indented ends to its arms.

Obverse inscription: +HENRICxDIxGRAxREXxANG[--]FR

Reverse description: Long cross, three pellets in each angle, also an annulet in first and third quarters; inscription in two orders.

Reverse inscription [outer]: POSVI/DEVMxx/ADIVT/ORE'Mx/inner: VIL/LAxx/CAL/ISxx, saltire punctuation
