A bent copper-alloy mount -probably of Late Medieval date. The bar is of semi-circular section with a flat back. A transverse raised collar at each end of the bar separates it from a four-grooved scallop-shaped terminal. The mount would have been attached by two circular rivets, one located within the centre of each terminal. These object are variously identified as strap bar mounts, casket or box mounts and book fittings, generally of late Medieval date. Circa AD1300-1500.
