A corroded and chipped early-medieval silver penny of Eadwig (955-9), Floral type C (North 737), moneyer: Ælfsige, mint: North-West England; weight 0.98g. Ref: North 1994: 145.


Coinage of this type and moneyer is previously only known from a fragment excavated in Warwick in 1967 (see EMC 1017.0158).

This is the first coin of the Floral 'c' design to be recorded by the PAS.
