An incomplete, Post Medieval - Tudor, struck or hammered, silver, halfgroat of Elizabeth I, sixth or seventh issue (1582-1602) without a date or rose with two pellets behind the bust. Obverse: Crowned bust left with two pellets behind. Inscription: [EDG R]OSA[S]IN(E)[SP](INA). Reverse: Square shield on cross fourchee. Inscription: [CI]VITA(S) [LONDON]. Mint name: London. Die axis: 4 o'clock. Very worn or fair condition with one small and one large edge chip also clipped with three quarters of the legend missing on the reverse and similar on the obverse. The coin dates to 1582-1602. Ref. Coins of England and the UK, Spink 2017, page 268-269 No. 2579 or 2586 and English Hammered Coinage Vol. 2, J.J. North, Spink 1991 reprint 2006, page 137 No. 2016. The coin is 15.43mm long, Truncated width 14.35mm, 0.61mm thick, diameter 15.43mm and weighs 0.7g.
