A silver-plated cast copper alloy figure, 24.7mm in length, probably from the end of a spoon or other type of decorative object. The figure wears late 16th century style dress, with a cloak draped across the back and holds a scroll in its right hand. It's left hand rests upon a large axe. The head, which has a pronounced ruff around the neck, appears to be in the form of a bare skull. The figure stands on a lozengiform plinth, with a drilled hole for a mounting pin or other attachment in the base. Circa 19th century.
