Rectangular late-medieval or early post-medieval mount made from two pieces of undecorated copper-alloy sheet held together by two copper-alloy rivets, one in the centre of each end. One sheet is slightly longer (34 x 13mm) than the other (32 x 13mm). The mount is now battered and has two rounded dents in the larger plate, one of which has broken through to the shorter plate which is presumably the backplate. The maximum thickness is 4mm and the weight (with retained soil between the plates) is 3.9g.
Two similar but smaller mounts came from late medieval or early post-medieval contexts in Norwich (Margeson 1993, nos. 267-8).
