Medieval Ball lock (?). The object looks exactly like a medieval ball lock but it seems more it was a replica or a cast of a lock (?). It is very light and there does not appear to be a locking mechanism or a hole for the key. However, it is quite corroded and it is also possible that the small joints and the hinge and key hole are too corroded to be identified properly.
