An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester Derivative Double Lug type, dating to AD 43-100. The brooch's head has two semi-oval cross-sectioned wings, which have a longitudinal channel at the back where the spring was housed. The double lug is at the centre of the back of the head and protrudes upwards; its both holes are blocked by soil or fragments of the copper-alloy chord and axis-bar. The bow is slightly D-shape din cross-section and tapers towards the broken end. The surfaces are worn and no decorations are visible on the front face of the wings and bow.
As Mackreth (2011, Vol 2, p. 37, Plate 34, no. 13329).
