A Roman Greek imperial copper alloy tetradachm of Diocletian, dating to AD 294-300. Reverse depicting Nike advancing right holding wreath, L to left. Mint of Alexandria.
Notes:
Whilst a number of provincial coins have been recorded on the PAS database, Tetradachms are not thought to have commonly circulated in Roman Britain and many may be more recent losses. This coin was found in the vicinity of other tetradachms (WILT-4495BF) as well as more recent African ethnographic material such as a small figurine, making it likely that the group does represent a more modern loss.
