Copper alloy buckle fragment. The cast offset strap bar of a small buckle frame clasped by a folded rectangular sheet metal plate of thickness 0.9mm. An off-centre rivet hole of diameter 1.3mm appears towards the inner end of the plate on one side. A small oval hole by the frame was presumably to permit a pin [now lost] to protrude. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1400
