Lead spindle whorl. Cast plano-convex whorl with a tapered moulded aperture of diameter 9.5-10mm, Walton Rogers form A1; heavily patinated and abraded. The spindle hole size would admit an Anglo-Scandinavian date while its mass would permit this to be used to spin a yarn. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 850-1000
