Only the majority of the head plate survives and comprises a rectangular centre panel with semi-circular arms springing from each side and the top. The remainder of the brooch is missing in old damage. The front is decorated with a rectangle of semi-circular punched ring and dot against an incised line border. The rear is undecorated, with the remains of a pin lug encrusted by iron corrosion. It survives to a height of 22.7mm, width of 32.4mm, thickness of 1.7mm and weighs 7.4g.
Brooches of this form are generally dated to Penn and Brugmann's phase FA1, c. AD 450-480.
