A corroded fragment of a copper-alloy harness fitting terret ring of Iron Age date, c.300 - 50 BC. Approximately one quarter of the terret ring remains, with worn breaks to either end. The interior of the ring is smooth and the outer curve is moulded into a series of three lobes, each of which comprises a pair of lips. The ring has a circular cross section. Cf Lewis (2015) Lipped Type V.

Terret rings were used as rein guides on chariots or carts used during the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period. They were set in a line along the yoke and five terrets were usually used per chariot.
