A fragment of a cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Hod Hill type, 21.9mm in length, with a tinned surface. The bow has a lozengiform plate decorated with three parallel longitudinal moulded ridges down the central axis, the outer pair forming simple borders to the plate. This is flanked by a pair of slightly convex lateral moulded collared knops of which only one remains. There is a transverse moulded collar at the junction between the main plate and the lower part of the bow, which tapers to the foot and which has a catchplate on the underside. Circa mid 1st century AD.
