An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester Derivative Double lug Type, dating to AD 43-100. The head has two C-shaped cross-sectioned wings and a perforated double lug at the centre of its back. The upper lug still retains a fragment of the copper-alloy spring chord. The bow has a pointed oval cross-section and tapers towards the break. The front face of the bow has a central longitudinal groove. The back face is undecorated.
