A complete post-Medieval silver half groat of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603), minted at London. The initial marks is impossible to determine, but the coin is from the third coinage (AD 1583-1603). (North 1991, pg 137, no. 2016)

Obverse: [E D G ROS]A SIN[E SP]INA (A rose without thorns); Very worn bust with one pellet still visible behind it.

Reverse: [CIVI/TAS]/LON/DON; Shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription.

Diameter: 16.15mm; thickness: 0.58mm; weight: 0.9g.
