A copper-alloy fragment of a Roman brooch of an unclear type, possibly dating to AD 43-100. It is the foot of the brooch; it has an oval cross-sectioned bow, which terminates in a rounded knop. The front face of the bow has four transverse grooves. The back face of the foot has a sub-triangular catch-plate, whose rear edge bends sideways to create the block for the pin. The catch plate has a triangular recess, possibly resulting from the attempt to create a perforation. The end of the foot is bent slightly sideways.
