An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester derivative double lug type, dating to AD 43-100. The head has two C-shaped cross-sectioned wings and a double lug at the centre of its back face. The upper lug houses the incomplete chord, which coils into an incomplete spring; the lower lug has still half of the axis bar passing through. The bow is oval in cross-section and tapers towards the break.
