A copper alloy zoomorphic strap end dating from the medieval period, AD 1300 - 1400. It is of a composite design, with a cast front plate and a separate sheet alloy back plate. The front plate and the back plate are held together by two circular, copper alloy rivets, one at each end of the back plate: both rivets remain in place. The shaft of the strap end is narrow and tapers towards the outer end where there is a zoomorphic terminal.
