An incomplete cast copper alloy small long brooch of early-medieval date. Measurements were not taken from the object but the surviving length is approximately 42mm. The edge of the head-plate is damaged but appears to have formerly been cruciform. It is decorated with U-shaped punch marks, which are arranged around three sides of a square within a faintly incised linear border. On the back of the head-plate are the stubs of the hinge. The brooch has broken beside the arched bow; the foot, catchplate and pin are missing. Cf. for example no. 15.56 in MacGregor and Bolick (1993, p. 139).
