A complete lead-alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1200 - 1800. The spindle whorl is bi-conical with a central perforation running through it. Both surfaces are decorated with a series of irregularly spaced raised lines. Each resulting cell houses a single raised pellet.

The metal has a mid-brown/white patina and is worn. The spindle whorl is 25.9mm in diameter, 12.2mm thick and weighs 10.1g. The perforation is 24.8mm in diameter suggesting a medieval date as per the thicker spindles of this period (Walton Rogers, 1997, p.1731).
