Unique ID: NLM-ABFB22

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

White metal and ceramic mount. A shiny round white ceramic boss of plano-convex section retained in a metal frame with a scalloped edge. The stub of a central integral fixing pin of diameter 5.8mm projects from the back, and is surrounded by alternating smaller and larger round holes. The boss is now smashed. The finder kindly suggests a function as a harness decoration; this reporter would rather see it as a fitting from a domestic setting - the white ceramic might even suggest it to come from a washroom or kitchen. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1850-1950

Diameter: 30.8mm, Thickness (clear of fixing pin): 7.6mm, Weight: 13.56gms
