A complete copper alloy single loop buckle frame, of Medieval dating (AD1250 to AD 1500).
Only the buckle frame is present, the pin is missing. The buckle has a sub oval frame, with an expanded outside edge. The strap bar is narrowed.
The buckle measures 19.8 mm in length, 31.6 mm wide and 2.0 mm thick. It weighs 2.3 g.
The buckle is a mid green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface detail.
A similar buckle frame has been recorded on the PAS database as WMID-716911.
