A thimble of modern period production, the band at the base inscribed with the letters EH and decorated with stylised foliate designs. A small stamp is present to the left of the E, consisting of a sunk square with seven pellets in a flower-like arrangement.
Notes:
This object is under 300 years old, and therefore not subject to the Treasure Act (1996). The relatively recent age is indicated mainly through the milled nature of the dimples. (Read 2018, Metal Sewing-Thimbles Found in Britain, p. 72 )
