A cast lead weight of uncertain date, probably Roman to Post Medieval (AD 43 - 1800). The weight is a short cylinder with a flat base and an angled top, but straight sides. There is a stub of an iron loop or rivet projecting from the centre of the sloping face. The weight has a smooth white patina. It is 25.5mm diameter, 15.9mm thick and 68.5g. This mass does not obviously match any of the main systems of measurement known. It could be a non-standard weight for a specific purpose, or it could be a weight that was used to add mass to another object rather than for weighing.
