A late medieval gold noble of Edward III of England (1327-1377), Post-treaty period, London mint. Mint Mark: cross pattee (1369-1377). The coin has slight damage to its exterior circumference. North 1991, Vol. 2, No. 1278

Obverse inscription: EDWARD DEI GRA REX ANGL F(retrograde) FRANC D HYB (Henry by the Grace of God King of England and France, Lord of Ireland)

Obverse description: King, crowned, standing facing on a ship and holding shield and sword. Battlemented turrets. No flag on stern. Saltire stops. Annulet before ED. Saltire X to REX.

Reverse inscription: IHC AVTEM TRANCIENS P MEDIVM ILLORVM IBAT (But Jesus, passing through the midst of them, went His way)

Reverse description: Floriated cross with a lis at the end of each arm with E in the central ornamented compartment, in each angle a lion passant, guardant with a crown above and a trefoil below, all within a tressure of eight arches
