A complete worn cast copper-alloy crotal or rumbler bell of Post Medieval date c.AD 1600 - 1800. The bell is crude. It comprises two hemispherical domes divided horizontally by a circumferential ridge. The upper hemisphere has a damaged sound hole on one side. The other side has an indentation where a second sound hole should be. There is a rectangular suspension loop with an oval hole from the apex of the upper dome. The lower hemisphere has a long, thin sound slit with circular holes at the ends. The inner iron ball is missing.. The upper and lower hemispheres have vertical lines similar to a sunburst design. On one side of the sound a makers mark the initial A . The bell is very worn and has a green patina.
It measurers 38.4mm tall, 27.4mm diameter and weighs 27.1 grams.
