A complete copper alloy Trade Weight of Post Medieval to Modern date (AD 1714-1820).

The trade weight comprises a disc which has been ground down on one side leaving a rim around the edge. In the centre is a ring-and-dot used to hold the weight while it was being ground.

There are four stamps in the depressed area (a) a crowned G for one of the King Georges set at 9 O'clock (b) the sword of St Paul for the City of London set at 1 O'clock (c) the letter A standing for the Averdepois system set at 3 O'clock and (d) an ewer for the Founders' Company of London set at 5 o'clock.

On the reverse of the weight are concentric rings of varying widths and depths

Diameter: 19.98mm, Thickness: 3.23mm, Weight: 7.4g

The metal is mid-green in colour with a slightly pitted patina
