A copper alloy bead of unknown date. The bead consists of a flattish globular body with a small central perforation which goes all the way through.
The preservation of the object is extremely poor, with heavy pitting and corrosion. This has potentially misshapen the bead and obscured any decoration.
The bead is 13.3mm in diameter and weighs 4.5g.
Due to the poor preservation of the bead it cannot be secularly dated. Similar examples (e.g. LVPL-0E2243) have been dated from the Iron Age- Roman period, whilst others e.g. DUR-A64F9A, are attributed to the Early Medieval period.
