Large lead spindle whorl of uncertain date (c. AD 43 - 1750). The spindle whorl has a domed upper face and a flat bottom face, the edges of which are angled upwards. It has been perforated centrally from the bottom face (as the hole is wider at this end). The object has a white patina. It is 38.87mm in diameter, 13.06mm in thickness and weighs 109.72g. The central perforation is 11.71mm in maximum diameter.

Lead spindle whorls can be difficult to date without archaeological context. There is nothing indicative about this example that would allow it to be more precisely dated.
