An early post-medieval silver coin: a sovereign type penny of Henry VIII (AD 1509-47) dating from AD 1530-1544. The coin has a diameter of 14.51mm, a thickness of 0.56mm, and weight of 0.61g. Obverse: sovereign seated, radiant star initial mark [h D G ROSA S]IE SPIA. Reverse C and D either side of shield, CIVITAS [DVR]RAM. Issued by Bishop Cuthbert Tunstall at Durham, 1530-44.
