A complete Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint horseshoe scraper (c. 2700 BC-c. 1601 BC).
This implement is roughly triangular in plan and cross-section. It has been made on a secondary flake and has no striking platform. One edge is almost vertical and its junction with the cortex has been battered, possibly to make it more comfortable for handling. The dorsal face has about 50% cortex. A small node on the cortex has also been battered and there is a large flake scar with ripples. Retouch extends from level with the node to the lower edge of the lower part of the scar where there is some more battering. The removals are semi-abrupt, short and parallel. The ventral face has a bulbar scar and very low relief ripples.
The scraper is grey with a red hue and the cortex is light brown. Just below the node, the cortex is darker and smoother!
