Lead spindle whorl. Cast biconical whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter c.12mm. Both sides bear decoration comprising closely spaced and moulded radial ribs; these appear crisper on one side, where a rim surrounds the central hole. A circumferential rim also marks where the two halves of the object meet. Distorted, probably by plough strike, and patinated. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1600
