A cast lead spindle whorl, probably of Early Medieval date, about AD 500 - 850. It is discoidal and has two flat faces of equal size and curved sides, making it a Walton Rogers type B2. Spindle whorls are difficult to date but the size of the central hole suggests an early or middle Anglo Saxon date. The patina is pale grey. It is 23.6mm in diameter and 4.3mm thick, with a central perforation of internal diameter 6.5mm. It weighs 12.51g.
