An early medieval copper alloy stirrup-strap mount, of Williams (1997) class A, type 1, dating to AD 1000-1100. The mount consists of a sub-triangular plate, with a lozengiform upper section transitioning into a more rectangular base. A rounded apex loop is flanked by knops, with smaller knops just above the widest point of the lozengiform section of the plate and two further marking the juncture between the lozengiform and rectangular sections of the plate. The plate has two drilled rivet holes, one at the apex loop and one just above the base, both on the longitudinal median line. A stepped flange projects from the reverse. The plate is decorated with a double stranded band of punched pellets around the border of the plate.
