Copper alloy buckle. Cast single looped buckle with a long integrally cast plate with a medial barrel-shaped expansion and a rounded point at its inner end. The loop has a pair of rounded knops on its outer edge. A further pair of round knops flank the outer end of the plate, which has a drilled hole of diameter 3.5mm between them to receive the pin [lost]. A further drilled fixing hole appears at the medial expansion, with two more at the outer edge of the terminal point. A domed rivet of head diameter 4.5mm passes through the plate just behind the pin seat, with another in the middle of the terminal. Slight gilding traces appear. Lightly bent. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1400
