The truncated tip of a broken flint blade.
The piece appears to be a secondary flake with evidence of retouch.
The flint is predoimently dark and light grey in colour.
The flake is sub-rectangular in form. The truncated base of the flake is flat. The sides of the flake taper to a rounded point.
The ventral face has a number of ripples orientated towards the distal end.
The dorsal face has a number of negative scars, broadly orientated in the same direction, which may indicate a number of flakes were removed from the same platform (Butler 2005, 33).
It is not possible to conclusively identity if the flint is anthropogenic in origin because it is incomplete. If the flake is man made it most likely dates from the Mesolithic to the Neolithic period.
