STRAP END

Unique ID: LVPL-7CAB1F

Object type certainty: Probably
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Copper alloy object, probably a strap end.

The object is shaped like a circle, with a slightly flattened base and an extending edge opposite to this. The object is uniface, with the plain back holding a slight bump or projection at the 'base'.

The decorated face is split by two lines raised in slight relief which, meeting, form a triangle. This is filled with four hollow, slightly raised circles. Three of the same circles fill the outside of the triangle on either side, and a further two go into the projecting edge.

It is possible that the circular decorations continued, and the projecting edge is broken, but this is unclear.

The object has a patchy brown patina, with the projection on the undecorated face a darker brown than the body of the object.
