An incomplete lead alloy bag or cloth seal, of probable Post medieval dating (AD 1700 to AD 1800).

The seal consists of two circular discs, joined by a rectangular strip. The top disc is circular with traces of writing around the edge. The inscription is incomplete but it is possible to read [ ]GOT[ ]. On the back of the top disc is a triangular rivet, which extends through a central hole on the lower disc. Several punch marks are present around the hole on the lower disc.

The seal measures 28.2 mm in length, 20.3 mm wide and 7.1 mm thick. It weighs 10.0 g.

The seal is a light to mid grey colour, with an even surface patina.

No direct parallel to a manufacturer of lead bag seals has been found at the time of recording.
